Whether it's for a contemporary bathroom or for a converted farmhouse the choice of floor tiles is important to the look, feel and appearance of a room. There are many things to take into consideration before determining what floor tile you'd want. 

Porcelain tiles are more durable, harder wearing, typically come in larger formats and thus more suited for kitchens, living rooms and hallways. Obviously they can be used in any environment but are normally recommended in anywhere where there is a risk or dropping or higher levels of traffic. On the other hand ceramic floor tiles have more choice in finish and appearance, tend to be smaller and are more suited to bathrooms.
